Weekend Adventures and Other Stuff

This Sunday, a group of fat folks and assorted hangers on and worshippers went floating down the Comal River. It started raining when we were about 1/4 of the way down, but no thunder or lightning, so we opted to continue floating.

We all had bathing suits on. The earth didn't spin off its axis. No one had anything to say about it.

We then went out for dinner and then decided to hold the First Austin Fat Girl Bowling Championships. I'm proud to say I am the third best Fat Girl Bowler in Austin.

My houseguest is getting on my nerves less although he still has no job. It is very nice to be able to say "houseguest fix this" instead of "This is broken, I need to save money to hire someone to fix it." Whether this will still be true after my pseudo-boyfriend gets here Friday I have no idea. Ack, my poor house will be overloaded with testosterone.

Went to yoga Saturday and discovered I have no balance. Went to personal trainer today and gacked at my non existent upper body strength.

Anyone interested in participating in the next Championships, please let me know:p.

New couch

is here, and the guy threw in a recliner for free! Yay! I'm really poor now, but I got new-to-me furniture for $75 + $30 for truck rental.

I found a rabbit last night near my mailbox. He would let me get about 2 feet from him and then hop off. He seemed at least partially tame, I've never gotten that close to a wild rabbit. So I got houseguest to come outside and try to help me. We couldn't catch him though and eventually he ran under a fence. I hope he is ok.

I found a beige leather sectional couch for $75 on craigslist. For that, I'm renting a truck from Uhaul and picking it up at 9 am. Nice! And I was excited cause I got 3 pairs of running shoes from Kohls for $80.

My houseguest overslept and did not go to his job interview. I was not amused.

I have a month off. Got a B in Novell, which is about as high a grade as I could reasonably have expected. Joined the gym again on Friday - I have a lot of energy lately and I'm trying to work some of it off in a productive way. Also going tubing Sunday, so people in New Branfeld watch out, the fat folk are invading:P

There were a bunch of layoffs. Then I get an email from one of my old friends. Who managed to burn up all of his possessions in California, and then hitchhiked and rode the bus from California to Austin, where he emailed me from the public library asking if he could stay with me. Now, there are about 3 people I would actually let live in my house. One is my best friend, who I have known since I was 5. That'd be 31 years. Then there is another friend at work. Then there is this guy, because when I was working customer service for EvilSoullessCompany (ESC to its close friends), he lent me money on multiple occasions and helped me out in lots of ways.

Except I live alone. And I really, really, really, really hate people in my space. And of course I had not cleaned in ....well, a long time. And my pseudo boyfriend is supposed to be here in 2 weeks. Which should prove quite interesting, even though houseguest is sleeping on my living room floor in a sleeping bag. And my computer is mysteriously FUBAR, which pleases me not at all.

I think if I ever get married we will definitely have to occupy different sides of the same duplex.

I'm at work and have a headache. I feel guilty about hating my job when there are lots of people who probably would have liked to stay around but couldn't.

I watched A Walk to Remember tonight. Not often that a movie can actually make me bawl my eyes out anymore. Mourning my own lost innocence at least as much as the protagonist's death, methinks.

One more hour til I can sleep. Sorry for the rambling incoherence.

Spent my spring break sick. Was off work for 7 days (which was actually kinda nice), other than being sick, but it was really hard to get back to work and school - I still feel drained, and am coughing some, but can't really justify taking more time off. I'll be very glad when the semester is over - though I do have straight A's, which is a rarity for me.

My main PC at home is hosed. I can't figure out what is wrong with it, which makes me feel rather dumb, but no one else can figure it out either. I have an online friend who is convinced it is bad ram and is sending me a gig of PC100 ram he had lying around. Hopefully it will work.

I seem to have run another man off. I'm good at doing that quickly. I analyzed what I did, though, which hopefully will keep me from doing it again soon.

I feel crummy, and I can't really articulate why. Frustrating.
